OverviewThe Professional Billing (PB) Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (CDIS) will serve as an advisor and expert resource for providers to improve the accuracy of clinical documentation to support patient complexity and acuity, risk profiles and professional fee billing. The CDIS primarily assists providers in capturing the clinical documentation needed to accurately reflect patient acuity. The PB CDIS will focus on pre-visit provider support, post-visit provider review, and collaboration and education with providers. QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience Requirements::Associate degree in any healthcare related field required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN or RN licensure preferred or CCS-P, CPC, CRC, CDEO, or other coding credential certification required. Clinical knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology. Strong critical thinking skills and utilization of clinical knowledge to identify potential clinical indicators supporting patient acuity and clarifications of the medical record. Possesses strong project management skills. Possesses strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated success at communicating effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently in a time-oriented environment. Demonstrates skilled ability and comfort with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred). Ability to build education material that is meaningful for providers and team members. Strong problem solving and investigative skills. Proficient with personal computer applications (Excel, Word, and Power Point). Licensure/Certification/Registration::Registered Nurse (RN), License Practical Nurse (LPN), CCS-P, CPC, CRC, CDEO, or other coding credential required. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51):Employees in this position:Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a frequent driverNOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or University of Florida Health automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
