Job Description:
Shift: 8-5pm Hybrid Assignment to last at least a year with possible extensionMust be a US CitizenThe key items though are Model based design with Simulink (Matlab) and experience through the lifecycle of software design with safety critical, embedded systems. In this exciting opportunity, you will work in agile scrum project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering and guide software engineers with less experience.Key Accountabilities:Develop safety-critical gas turbine engine control software to DO-178C compliance objectivesSoftware architecting support to enable software-to-software integration a testing, to include product line methodologiesDevelop and modify processes and methods to enable the team to achieve compliance objectives and optimal development paceSetting up and modifying continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) frameworks, to enable software development to be easily worked by the development teamLiaison with certification airworthiness authorities to explain approaches, demonstrate compliance to objectives, and close out audit findingsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in software engineering (development or testing) ORMasters Degree with experience in software engineering ORJD/PhDPreferred Qualifications (all are ideal, but any are a plus):5+ years experience in embedded safety-critical software engineeringFamiliar with Model-based software design using SimulinkExperience in the design and development of DO-178C compliant embedded software solutionsExperience in defining, assessing and modifying software architecturesExperience with integration (software/hardware and software/software) and component level testingExperience with software life cycle (Requirements, Design, Verification and Release)Experience with design of safety-critical control systemsExperience with control of gas turbine enginesExperience with Python, C, C++, and/or GroovyFamiliar with continuous integration and testing frameworks, such as JenkinsPioneer the next generation of innovation.
