Systematic Commodities Portfolio Manager
Location: Multiple Locations Globally & Remote
Description:
A market leading global hedge fund is actively looking to add Senior PM s or already existing pods into their Commodities franchise.
The fund had offices globally, and so can house new members in most financial hubs with the option of remote working also available (especially if an already existing pod / business)
The Commodities franchise at our client already has an established track record, however is looking to grow with key senior hires to help drive PnL and make the most of favourable market conditions.
With these hires being a key strategic focus for the fund globally, they can offer excellent compensation from a base and PnL cut perspective (incl. buy-outs / sign-ons) and are willing to wait out non-competes for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement systematic trading strategies in the commodities market.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify profitable opportunities and manage risk effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quantitative researchers, data scientists, and technology experts.
- Monitor and optimize existing trading models to ensure peak performance.
- Stay informed about market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical events impacting the commodities market.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading algorithms and models.
Requirements:
- Proven track record / deployable strategy within Systematic Commodities (product agnostic, but must be predominantly financials over physical book)
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or C++.
- PnL of 10m + (or ability to rapidly scale)
- Deep understanding of commodities markets and trading strategies.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex ideas to stakeholders.
