Compass Point is looking for a Systems Administrator I to join our team supporting USSOCOM. In this role, you will be a part of an enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) process for USSOCOM locations across several networks and mission-critical applications.Candidate must possess active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance and DoDM 8570 certifications along with a combination of education and demonstrated experience/training on networks and applications specific to the SIE / USSOCOM enterprise, IT service management, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and other relevant domains. Candidate must be able to work autonomously and exercise independent judgement on resolving complex technical issues without oversight as well as recommending creative/innovative ways to enhance the overall SIE ITSM. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. An ideal candidate will have a solid work ethic and the communication skills necessary to convey technology guidance. - Design, build, and manage enterprise baselines in a multi-tiered and highly available framework.
- Troubleshoots complex network problems associated with hybrid applications and databases.
- Works with security response teams during security incidents and participates in site security audits.
- Works with the telephony team and VoIP technologies.
- Performs on call duties on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills while interacting with end users.
- Good writing skills capable of creating process and procedure documentation.Contributes to continuous improvement recommendations.
- Ability to work as a team member on solutions to a variety of complex technical problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM related field or three to five years' experience in Windows Server administration.
- Three years' experience with network protocols - DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP, SSH, FTP.
- Must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
- Knowledge of server hardware, systems components, capacity, and systems performance management.
- Proficient with Windows Server 2016 and later.
- Basic knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience administering Microsoft SCCM/Intune and Hybrid endpoint management.
- Proficient with Windows 10 and later Windows operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of Linux.
- Familiarity with the latest versions of Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
- Professional, dependable attitude that is oriented towards customers, and a cooperative and positive spirit in working with other team members.
- Ability to work independently.
- Be physically capable of lifting 50 Lbs.
- Desired Qualifications:
- Firewall Management, Policy, and Troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- ITIL/Microsoft certifications are a plus.
- Experience with implementation of NIST 800-171 security controls.
