Overall Objectives of Position The Systems Administrator I performs complex problem determination and resolution for all matters involving information technology. The Systems Administrator I must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the I.T. industry. The Systems Administrator I is responsible for daily operation of staff I.T. issues. This job is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of this position. The Systems Administrator I is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs. The Systems Administrator I is expected to live the Purpose and Values of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and will go beyond the call of duty. Primary Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator I
- Assists with deployment of hardware; including, PCs, laptops, phones, wireless phones, printers and copiers.
- Installs operating systems and application software.
- Works help desk tickets as assigned.
- Responsible for Active Directory administration: Create user accounts, reset passwords.
- Creates email accounts within Office 365
- Creates user accounts within PBX.
- Works with end users to determine best method to resolve help desk tickets.
- Utilizes the Internet and other resources to research and troubleshoot.
- Maintains baseline image of standard client workstation configuration which includes both desktop PCs and notebook computers (networked and standalone).
- Maintains detailed documentation within help desk system.
- Advises supervisor of any potential problems in order for immediate team resolution.
- Respects and works within Federal Government rules and regulations and Tribal policies, procedures, and established rules of conduct ensuring that they are adhered to at all times.
- Ensures the physical condition of the premises is maintained in a safe, healthy manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals; such as, printers, scanners, phones, wireless phones and related hardware.
- Installs operating systems and application software.
- Maintain records of repairs and technical assistance rendered and conduct follow-up to ensure satisfaction with service.
Education/License/Certification and Experience Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a related field of study with one (1) year of related employment experience and/or a combination of related education and experience equivalent to three (3) years.
Skills Required
- Absolute confidentiality.
- Knowledge of desktop and notebook computer platforms.
- Understanding of computer operating systems, software applications and general knowledge of data network protocols and
- principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong customer focus and ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Must be able to communicate pleasantly with clients and be able to demonstrate, teach and/or communicate solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Must be well organized with attention to detail and able to work and communicate with others with a professional demeanor.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and an insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
- Ability to adequately and successfully perform all duties and responsibilities of this position.
