Job Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY:The Systems Administrator - Indexes is responsible for supporting, monitoring, and maintaining the system environments for the Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP), LLC.This includes operational support of Virtual Environment, Windows, and some Linux servers; as well as participating as a member of a team in CRSP Project efforts. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, configure, document, monitor, and maintain server software infrastructure.
  • Operating systems: VMWare, Windows servers, and some Linux
  • Server hardware: Cisco Unified Computing System
  • Ethernet Networking: Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches
  • Storage Area Network: Pure Storage flash array with Brocade fiber connections & other systems/software application needed
  • Install, configure, document, monitor, and maintain software lifecycle infrastructure (dev, test, prod, DR)
Index system support will include the following:
  • Windows Servers hosted on VMware virtual environments
  • Microsoft SQL server administration and support
  • Support and maintain the Real-Time Index Systems
  • Support the developer and quality initiatives by processing tickets timely, assisting with design and aiding in debugging problems
  • Build and deploy software releases (Git, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy)
  • 3rd Party application administration and support
  • Effectively manage time between operation and project actives.
  • Willingness to understand and support technology not part of core job responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Contributing to CRSP leading technologies, which improve systems and operating environment.
  • Maintaining department's stated SLAs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum Required Education/Experience required: Bachelor' Degree OR associate degree with at least 18 months relevant experience OR Three (3) years relevant experience
  • Experience with Windows and Windows server administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL server administration.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and document technical concepts.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills required, including the ability to analyze and evaluate information objectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to be reliable, accountable, and exhibit organization and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • This position may require work outside of normal work hours for production support and performing maintenance and upgrades. Holiday coverage is required on a rotational basis.
  • A strong attention to detail is required to be successful in this role.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Working knowledge of appliance and software-based firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of virtual machines.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise server and / storage systems.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell and scripting / task automation.
