Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: The System Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of the banks networks and computer systems. System Administrators organize, install, and support these systems. These include local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN) and other data communication systems within the bank. Their duties include installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and monitor critical network infrastructure, such as firewalls, switches, phone system, SIP trunks, datacenter, VOIP, and VMware host servers
  • Apply firmware updates as released to network hardware
  • Apply software updates as released to critical systems outside of standard patch management
  • Monitor and triage alerts received from third party providers, such as Bitdefender, firewall, and server activity alerts
  • Manage network routing internally across all locations
  • Manage cloud-based services, such as Microsoft 365
  • Manage backup services, such as OwnCloud & Carbonite
  • Help to ensure industry best practices are in use for all on premise and cloud-based systems
  • Assist with issues that may arise with any of the bank's technical products.
  • Assist end users with issues that may arise from their workstations, software systems, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Assist and support with disaster recovery tests
  • Assist and support with end user training and education
  • Assist with setup and configuration of new workstations, servers, and printers
  • Write, test, and implement scripts for network management using PowerShell or Python scripting language
  • Assist and support overall network management using PowerShell, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • CAPM preferred but not required
  • Analyzes business needs and new technology and makes recommendations.
  • Work with third party vendors as issues arise, such as Gladiator, Asset Black, Safe Systems, INS
  • Perform duties as defined in the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.   • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related IT specialization such as System or Network Administration. Requires at least 3 years of similar or related experience. Experience and professional certification may be substituted for degree requirement but must have a minimum of five (5) years of specialized training/work experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • VoIP Phone Systems experience preferred

  • General knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program.

  • Works in an office environment. May be asked to respond to problems or provide service after hours. May be expected to carry and respond to cell phone at all times.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks
