POSITION SUMMARY As a Systems Administrator at Samuel Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of our IT infrastructure.   • Infrastructure Management: Planning, preparing, and managing system infrastructure, including databases, computer and network equipment, and other software and hardware.
  • Adaptability: Quickly adapting to obstacles and changes to maintain system performance and reliability.
  • Problem-Solving: Evaluating systems, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending innovative solutions.
  • Leadership: Providing project leadership and mentoring junior team members.
  • Security: Monitoring, evaluating, and maintaining systems and procedures to protect our data systems and databases from unauthorized access.
  • Automation: Writing custom scripts to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Innovation: Challenging the status quo and bringing forward new ideas to improve our IT systems and processes.

  • Experience in system administration/engineering and IT support
  • Experience in system design, implementation and management
    • ITSM Tools (ie FreshService)
    • Microsoft Server 2019 +
    • Advanced Active Directory, O365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Intune
    • Microsoft Server SQL, RDS, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
    • Nutanix AHV, VMWare ESXi, Dizzion Frame DaaS
    • PowerShell, batch scripting, and automation.
    • Operating system hardening, deployment, virtualization and templates
    • System performance and optimization configuration
    • Zoom Suite including Zoom Phone
    • LAN/WAN network technologies, including TCP/IP, Subnetting, Firewalls, and VLANs
  • Certifications: Possess active technical certifications from vendors like Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, AWS (preferred)
  • Product experience: Nutanix, Nasuni, Palo Alto, and Meraki (preferred)

DIRECTION RECEIVED
  • Supervision, administration, and assignments are given by the IT Manager
DIRECTION OF OTHERS While not directly responsible for supervision, this position regularly provides guidance and mentoring to junior Specialists/Technicians and Interns. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Systems Administration experience
  • Bachelor's degree or Equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, and on multiple platform
  • Flexibility to work off hours on-demand
  • Willingness to learn and take on different responsibilities when required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL
  • Systems Administrator Intern - Education = Junior or Senior in Accredited University
  • Systems Administrator IV - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent
  • Systems Administrator III - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 2 years
  • Systems Administrator II - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 4 years
  • Systems Administrator I - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 6 years
  • Sr. Systems Administrator IV - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 10 years
  • Sr. Systems Administrator III - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 12 years
  • Sr. Systems Administrator II - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 14 years
  • Sr. Systems Administrator I - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 14 years
WORKING CONDITIONS Work will be mainly conducted in-office; however, employee may be assigned to work at other office locations from time to time. Overtime may be required at times to make deadlines. TRAVEL REQUIREMENT Infrequent domestic travel to various office locations.
