We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator for our Houston, Texas office. The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of the company intranets and computer systems. Duties include assigning and maintaining user access, installing and maintaining software, responding to employee concerns relating to IT, troubleshooting IT issues, and writing policy documents and training materials for employees. Manages servers, network equipment, and other related IT infrastructure. Coordinates with company leadership to determine new technologies and enhancements for company systems. Requirements Responsibilities

    • Maintains Datacenter environment supporting Generation Management System and Market Management System
    • Create and maintain documentation for IT systems
    • Regularly monitors and tests backup platform.
    • Deploys physical servers and virtual machines.
    • Maintains critical IT platforms for internal stakeholders.
    • Sets up and maintains user access for all employees.
    • Implements & manages user and network security.
    • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
    • Builds and modifies custom reports within multiple platforms.
    • Researches, recommends, and purchases new hardware and software.
    • Evaluates existing software applications & performs routine updates/modifications.
    • Installs and maintains new software & hardware ensuring licensing laws are followed.
    • Manages and maintains file server s software and hardware.
    • Writes documents for user-training and support.
    • Manages secure network access for remote users.
    • Audits network security and compliance requirements.
    • Performs other duties as required.

Secondary responsibilities will be tailored to individual candidate backgrounds as well as company priorities. Required Knowledge and Abilities:
    • Experience with patch management.
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 platform.
    • Experience with Azure or other similar cloud platforms.
    • Experience documenting complex IT environments.
    • Experience with Hyper V or other similar virtualization platforms.
    • Capable of producing comprehensive architectural diagrams.
    • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and Teamwork.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language.
    • VoIP telephony experience.
    • Cisco, Palo Alto, or other similar Firewall experience.
    • Strong background in Networking Technologies.
    • Experience with Intune or other similar MDM platforms.
Education & Experience
    • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network engineering or a related discipline
    • Professional certification such as MCSA, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent certification is preferred.
    • 5+ years of work experience working with Microsoft server, systems, and software environment required in lieu of a degree.
Physical requirements and environment: This role is office-based with occasional travel required to remote worksites and construction sites. The minimum in-office requirement is three days/week. Candidates will be required to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods of time, and must be able to lift up to fifty pounds repetitively. Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation and may be subject to drug tests as a condition of employment.
