PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows-based servers and systems as well as ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the IT environment, adhering to industry standards and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Windows Administration, MS Server Administration, and Active Directory Management. You will be proficient in handling various operating systems and server applications, including Azure VDI and Hyper-V. Your role will also involve managing software applications, applying system updates, and troubleshooting technical issues.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you will ensure compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) guidelines and perform SCAP scans and complete STIG checklists. The position also requires strong documentation skills to maintain detailed records of system configurations and changes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Configure and deploy Windows-based servers in Azure GCC High.
  • Analyze system logs to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software.
  • Manage user accounts: add, remove, or update information and reset passwords.
  • Document system configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues.
  • Ensure server infrastructure reliability and performance.
  • Configure, add, and delete file systems.
  • Ensure consistency across development, test, and production environments.
  • Adhere to CMMC, DFARS, ISO, NIST guidelines.
  • Handle the installation of server software.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Expertise in Windows Administration and MS Server Administration.
  • Proficient in Active Directory Management.
  • Familiarity with Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows and Windows Server.
  • Experience with Server Applications: Azure VDI, Hyper-V, Active Directory.
  • Proficiency with Software Applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Linux operating systems a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in a technical discipline and 2 years of relevant experience. 5 years of relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of a college degree.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud-based server environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
