Systems Administrator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fluent in writing scripts using Powershell v2 and newer for business and IT task scheduling.
- Support for local help desk tickets for PC's affiliated with office users. Proactively keep requester and supervisor updated on status
- Office 365 Exchange Online administration & performance tuning
- Provide server/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users
- Add and maintain users on the network; assigning file access, ensuring security, managing GPO's and scripts, maintaining their configurations are within standards
- Install, modify, maintain, and secure server and network infrastructure
- Configure and maintain backups (Veeam) and Business Continuity system (Zerto).
- Install operating systems, Windows 10 and Server 2016/2022, managing using Software Deployment Software (PDQ), Group Policies, etc.
- Accountable for installing network server-side applications, such as Network Backup, VMware, SQL etc., as well as maintaining, inventorying & ensuring compliance with licenses
- Ensure that server and/or workstation updates are applied monthly or as needed without negative impact to other systems using WSUS and other management tools
- Provide technical assistance, in person, email and via telephone, and training to users and perform user- and desktop-level duties as needed
- Develop and implement procedures for all repetitive & maintenance tasks (which may incorporate suppliers' documentation), and trains other IT staff members on basic duties
- Technical support/Help Desk and carry out tasks defined in the Help Ticket Tracking system
- Windows server proficiency is required and needs to cover these areas: (1) Extensive experience with diagnosis and repair of system failures (2) Add/maintain users on network and assign file access (3) Manage security via audit tools (4) Manage GPO's and scripts, (5) Maintain configurations up to standards in accordance with SSAE18/ Company policies.
- Support VMware (6.5+) Virtual environment including Diagnose and repair hardware failures, disk/snapshot consolidations, errors due to software configuration
- SQL server administration: maintenance plans, and performance tuning.
- Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in M.I.S. or I.T. field, or equivalent from four-year College or technical school
- Three (3)+ years administering networks, Servers and Windows PCs
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft, Cisco, FortiNet, or ISC(2) Security Certifications
- Excellent judgment and oral/written communication skills and the ability to work well with users to provide exceptional support
- Fluent in PowerShell scripting
