Job Description:
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Developing, delivering, and supporting cost-effective and secure technology infrastructure on-premises and in the cloud with a focus on automation, sustainability, improvement, and best practice standards;
  • Designing and administering infrastructure solutions leveraging various virtualization and storage technologies (e.g., VMware, HyperV, Azure, Pure, and NetApp);
  • Supporting and enhancing an existing unified collaboration platform built on a hybrid Azure AD/Office 365 and on-premises Active Directory environment including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and supporting tools and technologies;
  • Designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining various Azure Cloud Services such as Azure AD DS/EntraID, Teams, Intune, AD Connect, and Microsoft 365;
  • Designing, implementing, configuring, maintaining, and participating in data backup, retention, and recovery practices and procedures for both on-premises and cloud-hosted platforms, including Windows and Linux (e.g., Veeam, Rubrik);
  • Ensuring that technical disaster recovery capabilities support business-defined objectives and continuity plans. (e.g., Zerto);
  • Performing as a subject matter expert on specific assigned technologies;
  • Serving as an escalation point to provide tier 3 technical support for the team;
  • Creating documentation and standard operating procedures for all built and deployed solutions and services;
  • Proactively identifying potential issues with security, performance, capacity, usability, or sustainability and designing infrastructure solutions to continuously improve the technologies deployed;
  • Managing the configuration of Windows/Linux servers, patches, system access control, monitoring, and applications using tools and technologies (e.g., SCCM, MECM, Solarwinds, Splunk and PDQ);
  • Administering and maintaining end user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems;
  • Interacting with vendors to assess, implement, and support new and existing technologies;
  • Installing, configuring, and administering Linux servers from a CLI environment, preferably RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux);
  • Providing on-call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members;
  • Interpreting policies and providing consultation or expert advice as needed;
  • Assisting with other duties and initiatives as directed to achieve strategic team goals;
  • Completing work assignments and providing timely status updates as directed;
  • Participating in enterprise projects as assigned to ensure technology-related tasks are completed on time;
  • Serving as a proactive member of a team by looking for improvements in technologies and efficiencies;
  • Collaborating with teams to deliver new or enhanced solutions;
  • Mentoring and training teammates on best practices, troubleshooting, and automation;
  • Understanding and remaining current on industry trends and providing input on infrastructure lifecycle and the future of infrastructure technologies within IT operations;
  • Participating in outage incidents and assisting in the identification of root cause and remediation needed to permanently restore service.
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • VMware ESXi, VCenter Server, and HyperV;
  • Microsoft Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022);
  • Active Directory, DNS, WINS, DHCP;
  • Microsoft Azure, Azure AD/EntraID, Enterprise Apps;
  • iSCSI, Fiber, NAS, SAN Technologies, preferably Pure/NetApp;
  • Office 365 - Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint;
  • Microsoft Windows Group Policy;
  • Exchange (2016/2019);
  • SSO and SAML;
  • Veeam Backup v11/v12, Rubrik;
  • Splunk, Solarwinds;
  • Experience with CentOS/RHEL v6/7/8/9 preferred;
  • At least four years of experience in scripting (PowerShell and/or Bash);
  • Proven competency with most Windows commands and utilities;
  • Knowledge in storage array administration (Pure Storage, NetApp, etc.);
  • Experience with HPE Hardware, DL3xx series, iLO 4/5, and Smart Storage Administrator, as well as Dell R6/7 series servers, iDRAC, and PERC controllers;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and devotion to client satisfaction;
  • Self-motivated and able to meet objectives with little or no direct supervision;
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team on complex tasks;
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage projects and initiatives through to completion;
  • Occasional travel required;
  • Rotating after hours on-call support required;
  • Must be able to lift moderate to heavy items (20 to 50 pounds).
