Job DescriptionPosition Summary:A member of the revenue cycle process, the Systems Analyst is responsible for working with the Sr. Systems Analyst to review claim errors and claims that have not final billed. The Systems Analyst is responsible for knowing current rules and regulations for each payers' errors and timely filing guidelines. Major responsibilities include account research, correcting Billing and ADT/Reg claim errors and identifying the root cause, potentially rebilling accounts, correcting SPARCS edits and running reports. The Systems Analyst could also be responsible for itemized bill preparation, preparing and completing manual claims for submission to payers and updating patient accounting systems. The Systems Analyst also performs related functions in support of the Patient Financial Services operations and other duties, as assigned.Essential Job Functions:The identification of essential functions below is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned to this position, nor does it restrict the duties which may be assigned to the position within the revenue cycle process.Ensure compliance with payer rules and regulationsEffectively use computer systems
- Review ADT/Reg errors and report the issues resulting in the error to the Director during team meetings.
- Analyze all ADT/Reg errors by creating reports to form a root cause analysis with the team to help prevent future errors.
- Document patient information clearly and completely in the billing systems
- Review and work appropriate claim errors to ensure claims are billed clean and timely In order to maximize revenue.
- Resolving ADT/Registration claim errors timelyCorrecting SPARCS errors and resubmittingInteract with other departments to help alert them of claim error trends and help them to resolve.
- Refer accounts requiring escalation to Supervisor in a timely manner
- Attend all necessary training sessions and meetings to effectively perform the day-to-day functions of the position
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Patient Accounting Manager or Supervisor
Minimum Qualifications1. A Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university; and, 2. One year of experience in business, government, hospital, educational institution or a non-profit organization in analysis, development and implementation of systems, methods and procedures, management information development and data coordination.Familiarity with EDP applications and data processing programs; or, 3. A Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration, Hospital Administration Management, Public Administration, Accounting or relevant field from an accredited college or university; or, 4.
