The Senior DevOps Engineer will focus on developing tools and processes to drive DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments. This role will primarily involve building enterprise cloud-native solutions utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Azure. The individual will apply specific functional knowledge and industry expertise to develop solutions to moderate scope and complexity problems. The Senior DevOps Engineer will work independently with some guidance and may provide oversight to junior employees. A Bachelor's degree and 2-4+ years of directly related experience or a Master's degree and 0-2+ years of directly related experience are required. Relevant certifications may be accepted in lieu of a degree for certain technical roles.
Area of Focus Information: The focus of this role is on provisioning compute networking and storage, as well as setting up the server platform. This includes tasks such as provisioning virtual machines/VMs or networks.
Required Skills:- Experience in IT roles working on Red Hat and Oracle Linux, Windows Server, Oracle OVM, or VMWare administrative activities with a focus on security implementation- Knowledge of security principles, including Zero Trust Architecture, CIS benchmarks, and security controls for Linux operating systems and virtual environments- Experience with automation, installation, configuration, administration, patching, and security hardening of COTS and open-source applications, including operating systems- Ability to architect lab or enterprise networks and provide installation plans- Proficiency in implementing and operating VMWare, virtualization, or container solutions- Linux server administration skills with scripting using bash, csh, and ksh
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
