Job Description:

The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is currently seeking a Systems and Audio-Visual Administrator to join its IT Operations team. In this role, the Systems and Audio-Visual Administrator is responsible for providing Audio/Video support across ABIM. They are also responsible for helpdesk and infrastructure support to ABIM's users and systems. This includes new user setups and ABIM's core application support of Microsoft Office Suite. In addition, this role will give an individual exposure to infrastructure technologies such as: virtualization, servers, and networking.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, the Systems and Audio-Visual Administrator has the following primary responsibilities:

  • Onsite Audio/Video meeting support including off-hours.
  • Troubleshoot workstation, server and application related problems.
  • Track computer related issues.
  • Set up user's workstations, install network software, and support third party software.
  • Configure and setup on-going user's workstation replacement from custom images.
  • Perform and/or direct software/hardware installations upgrades on workstations/servers.
  • Execute application installation and upgrades and provide desktop end-user support.
  • Monitor server resources capacity and identify concerns to management.
  • Maintain user IDs and user groups.
  • Maintain proper documentation and equipment inventory control system.
  • Prepare specifications for systems improvements.
  • On-call rotation.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

The ideal candidate has an associate's degree, or equivalent experience, in computer sciences or related field with one to three years of systems administration experience, providing full administrative services in a production environment. The ideal candidate should also have a working knowledge of applicable networking products and applicable desktop applications such as: Microsoft Office Suites, End Point Antivirus Security, and workstation disk encryption.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and is capable of working autonomously. A person with the desire and proven acumen to proactively anticipate problems and recommend solutions will flourish in this role.
