Chipton-Ross is seeking 30 Assembler B's for a contract opportunity in North Charleston, SC.*This position is 100% ONSITE.RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Ability to select correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, hardware, etc. install, fit, fasten, align, adjust and perform the necessary pre-installation assembly work to accomplish the installation of structural components requiring the use of production and engineering prints to determine exact locations. Report job constraints such as: errors caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc., in accordance with Client procedures. Perform any repairs, rework, functional checks and the incorporation of authorized changes, etc., as outlined by Lead. Remove and/or replace installed components and any related parts. Must be able but not limited to Drill close tolerance holes in composites, Tool indexing, Gap measurement. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering dispositions and instructions. Be safety conscious; employ the use of safety glasses, safety harnesses, respirators, boot socks, and other pertinent safety equipment 100% of the time. Exhibit exemplary housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) standards. Maintain clean, neat, organized and FOD free work area. Possess understanding and knowledge of basic computer systems and programs. Ability to stand for long periods of time, and work in elevated and/or confined spaces as required. Frequent overhead work may be required. This includes the ability to locate and isolate the problem, identify possible solutions, and select approaches that are practical and effective.HARD REQUIREMENTS:o Experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications o Computer literacyo Ability to identify common toolso 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.o Aerospace systems experience should include hydraulic, ICS, PECS, duct installation, IFE, interior decorative repair, waste and potable water systems.o Lift up to 25 pounds (Occasional lifting of 21-35 pounds), bend and twist at the waist, walk, crawl, crouch, stand for long periods, kneel, reach, climb/balance, flexion/extension.o Contact with sealants and solvents, exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms.o Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.o Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.o Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes.o Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material.o Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities.o Occasional (1 to 3 hrs.) finger manipulation.o On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs.o Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs.).o Frequent walking on flat surfaces.o Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces.o Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces.o Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands.o Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls.o Occasional contact with metals.o Exposure to plastics and solvents to atmospheric conditions.o Frequent exposure to noise.o Must be proficient in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook, etc.o Must have demonstrated strong effective communication, work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned task/work.o Suitable candidates will have ONE year of direct Aerospace Systems Experience as a minimum requirement, and preferably have 3 years of solid Aerospace Systems Experience.o Candidates without aerospace experience may not be considered, unless they have completed a relevant aerospace manufacturing program (ex. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Trident Technical College, Pittsburg Aeronautical Institute, etc.).o Candidates will be required to attend and pass a training class. Failure of training may be cause for assignment termination. 9 to 10 weeks training required.o Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes.The training consists of a combination of instructor-led and web-based training. It includes classroom style and hands-on application to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the material. EDUCATION:Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g., High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate). Education must be accredited. WORK HOURS: MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING 1st, 2nd or 3rd SHIFT.
