JOB DESCRIPTION What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications required? The ideal candidate would have 3-7 years of experience with the following: ICCP and Real-Time Exchange System Experience: Experience working with ICCP (Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol) and real-time exchange systems, essential for supporting utility and power grid operations. Database and Display Building Experience: A key requirement for this role is proficiency in database management and display building, including working with SCADA systems and tools like AutoCAD. Utility/Power Grid Support Experience: Prior experience in supporting real-time planning and operations within the utility or power grid sector is essential. NERC-SIP Compliance Experience: Experience with regulatory compliance, particularly NERC-SIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation - Critical Infrastructure Protection), is highly desirable. Project Management Skills: Cradle-to-grave project management skills are a strong asset for managing the lifecycle of projects, from initiation through to completion. What are the main technology application/software skills/experience this resource will be required to possess? The main requirement for this position would be experience with the GE product called XA/21; a dynamic energy management system or DEMS. Experience with similar systems such as Schneider Electric or any other SCADA systems. What does a typical day look like? Day-to-day tasks would consist of working with team lead who would assign tasks pertaining to upcoming construction projects. Some examples of tasks may be building a new RTU from scratch within the database or creating some points. This resource will also work with field technicians on the requirements. Resource would also be expected to attend the weekly team meetings, held each Monday. In addition, this resource will be building displays in the schedule system; RTU's, transformers, breakers. A typical requirement this resource would work on involves replacing an old RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) with a new one for a construction project. The process starts with the team lead attending project meetings with project managers to gather all necessary information, such as the charge codes and project details. During the weekly Monday meeting, the team lead assigns this task to the resource. The resource's responsibility is to ensure that the new RTU installation follows the company's guidelines. They use an internal system, SI Tracker, to track project progress. The task includes building the new RTU from scratch, following a template provided, and ensuring all components are completed. Once the task is complete, there is a sign-off process involving a meeting with field engineers. After the sign-off, the field engineers handle the live implementation. If additional assistance is needed, the resource may continue working with the internal database team or the field engineers.
