SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Systems Engineer II.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Job Summary: SEACORP's Tactical Solutions Business Area is seeking a Systems Engineer II for Middletown and Newport, RI. Job Responsibilities include:
- Maintainthe Weapon Launcher System Safety Plan of developed products and systems insupport of Combat Control Systems integration of payload systems for variousNavy platforms to ensure system safety guidelines are established.
- Participate leading and engaging in various safety planning activities toensure compliance among various asynchronous system upgrades.
- Responsible for the development of safety analyses, technical data packages andpresentations for submission to cognizant Safety Review Boards.
- Responsible for life cycle system safety development.
- Participate in safety working group meetings, performing Engineering, Test andAnalysis of complex systems, reporting hazard findings, and briefing varioustechnical Review Boards as necessary.
- Safety review of Instructional documentation related to the transportation,installation/removal, operation, maintenance and repair of undersea weaponsystems and components to ensure instructions do not direct unsafe processes,and contain appropriate notes, warnings, and cautions to ensure operatorsafety. This includes shipboard and shore-based Technical Manuals,Operator Instructions, and repair bulletins.
- Safetyreview of Top-Level Requirements, Analysis of Alternatives, and otherproject/program-related decision aids.
Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline.Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in Naval Submarine Weapons Safety. Ideal Skills and Experience:
- A basic understanding of system operationalprincipals/phases as they relate to design/development, integration,transportation, installation/removal, operation, and maintenance/repair.
- Understanding of mechanical systems.
- Ability to access & research Department of Defense(DoD) instructions, standards, & specifications (such as MIL-STD 882E,ASTM, ASEE, ASME, OSHA, etc.). for use in determining guidelines &acceptable factors-of-safety for mechanical properties and safety standards.
