The Systems Engineer responsibilities will span full lifecycle development and sustainment from the beginning of a program to final test and delivery. The System Engineer supports sustainment through resolving cross functional technical issues over the entire product lifecycle, resolving part obsolescence issues, integrates modernization upgrades and modification solutions, and assisting in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.Essential Job Functions• Participate in plan, design, develop, and verify systems development and system solutions.• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.• Implement verification and validation of system requirements with proper flow down and traceability for system and hardware components to include verification, validation, and test plans and schedules, procedures and documentation, execution, and requirements closeout.• Support interface development, documentation, and compliance and system integration to ensure system success.• Provide engineering support for trade studies and impact analysis, failure analysis, and modeling.• Interact and collaborate with customers, cross-functional teams, manufacturing operations, and program management to resolve problems and implement solutions.• Ability to provide technical solution to a wide range of difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.• Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area.• Other duties may be assignedComplementary Description• The Systems Engineer will have significant knowledge of projects, systems, and applicable regulatory requirements in assigned portfolio of moderate to high complexity.• Lead technical proposal preparation and serve as the subject matter expert in non-advocate, internal and customer reviews.• Serve as the test lead in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems of moderate to high complexity.• Estimate, track, manage, and report status relating to technical, cost, schedule, and risk performance for assignments scope of work which may span across multiple projects.• Decisions may have major impact on cost, schedule, and technical performance.• Review metrics and defect trends, identify systemic root causes and process improvements.• Recommend new approached, tools and techniques that drive continued improvements.· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship-This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
