We perform system definition and requirements generation for the design, documentation, and test of next generation Layer 3 In-line Network Encryptors.You will work as part of a team and help clarify requirements while continuously supporting development, integration, automation, and test of the final product through certification.The day-to-dayDerive, Develop and document system, software and hardware requirements from customer specificationsOwn system requirements and system design activities on next generation network encryption devicesPrepare system level material and present at internal and customer reviewsWork with Agile scrum teams to identify develop and prioritize spiral based product featuresKnowledge of model based system engineering practices (CAMEO) desiredCollaborate with large geographically diverse multi-disciplinary teams to create next generation productsGenerate and collaborate on required design documents, development requirements, specifications and verification protocolsSupport Qualification of new design by supporting an reviewing system test activitiesWhat you'll needBachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering Discipline8+ years communication systems design experienceStrong system, software, or test background including design and implementationDeep understanding of system engineering processes from requirements to test with experience in managing process activitiesStrong understanding of networking protocols highly desiredMust be able to prioritize, be detail oriented, and have history of managing time well to accomplish multiple tasks in parallelStrong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with a temporally and geographically diverse team Ability to document and report on technical solutions/findingsGood working knowledge of MS Office products for documentation creation and modificationDesire to be part of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and troubleshoot production related issuesAbility to work independently, take initiative, take ownership of tasks and resultsUS citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is requiredAbility to travel up to 10%What will help you on the jobExperience with communications systems engineeringExperience with DOORS and/or JAMA requirements management toolsExperience with model based system engineering and tools such as CameoExperience participating in multi-disciplinary teamsExperience with Government systems and service acquisition#LI-BBSSalary range$166,300.00 - $289,200.00 / annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
