SRC is a mission-driven, customer-focused, and collaborative organization, actively seeking individuals who align with these core values.What You'll DoGuide the technical direction of our current radar programs and influence future radar system developmentThis position will involve the design and analysis of signal and data processing technologies, algorithm development, electronic protection techniques, and serve as one of the primary interfaces with upper management and SRC's customersProvide technical expertise, mentoring, training, and advice to junior engineers, and upper management. This position will involve a variety of different technologies and missions including pulse-Doppler radar, Continuous Wave (CW) radar design, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Foilage/Obstruction Penetrating radar (FOPEN/OPEN), Air Surveillance, Counter Battery, and Counter UAS systemsCollaborate with customers in Department of Defense, as well as industry, to define system capabilities and functionality for future radar systemsParticipate in business development activities, such as development of marketing briefings, white papers, and proposals (including cost estimates)Lead the development of radar systems, including the definition of system requirements, architecture, and designDevelop EW&CS system simulations, models, and algorithms, and perform data analysisConduct trade studies and risk assessments to determine the most feasible and innovative solutions to meet our customers' missions and requirementsStay current on emerging technologies and trends in the field of radarPlan, develop, and execute training to increase radar system engineering talent depth in the engineering teamSupport functional leadership in the Systems Engineering team by being a visible, and accessible technical leader in the groupSome travel required (10%) to provide support for field tests, demonstrations, and customer meetingsWhat You'll BringBS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field and 15+ years of related experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis OR MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field and 10+ years of related experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysisExperience in conducting technical training and mentoring in workplace environmentExperience in writing technical reports, creating technical drawings, system developmental schedules, and performance specifications, and in presenting to management and customersStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; strong interpersonal, and organizational skills; strong written, and oral communication skillsExperience in performing analysis and algorithm development using MATLAB, C/C++, or PythonExperience/Expertise in traditional Systems Engineering processes, including requirements analysis, architecture development, trade studies, and risk managementSecurity Clearance RequirementsMust be a U.S. citizen - applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for (and subsequently receive) access to classified information up to the TS-SCI levelWays to Stand OutMS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a similar fieldExperience/Expertise with Systems Engineering methodologies and tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and System Modeling Language (SysML)What Sets Us Apart?SRC, Inc., a not-for-profit research and development company, combines information, science, technology and ingenuity to solve impossible problems in the areas of defense, environment and intelligence. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $164,000 to $207,000 annually.
