Job Description:

Great opportunity for an experienced Principal level Systems Engineer to step into a Systems Engineering Manager role located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Our client is a leading electronics related manufacturer looking for a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a systems and technology development team over a product lifecycle for both continuation / sustaining engineering and new product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of systems engineering to develop and provide necessary expertise in our full portfolio of products and technologies.
  • Ensure systems engineering team provides the necessary technical leadership and cross-functional support on projects including proper development and documentation of requirements, architectures and necessary system level simulations, tests and analyses.
  • Support and contribute to leading the development and documentation of risk analyses.
  • Apply knowledge of technology development processes to ensure the readiness of core sensor and algorithm technologies across all products align with new and sustaining product development timelines.
  • Participate and represent the systems and technology group in cross-functional management teams by interfacing and communicating regularly with design & development, test, approvals, manufacturing, product management, program management, field service, marketing, supply chain, and procurement functional areas.
  • Utilize solid understanding of theories and practices of a variety of disciplines including in electrical, mechanical and software/firmware to directly support the product architecture and technology development for complex electro-mechanical projects within boundaries of quality, time and budget.
  • Provide leadership to the staff regarding work priorities and project execution, and use process to measure, track and communicate progress.
  • Ensure staff deliverables comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, company policies and procedures, processes, proper and good documentation practices, and task assignments.
  • Adhere to quality system design control procedures, regulations and standards and ensure appropriate design controls are being applied to during sustaining engineering efforts and new product developments.
  • Hands-on participate in the development of project and product documentation and their approvals (e.g. project requirements, engineering change orders, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering product development
  • 3+ years as systems or technology development engineer.
