Job Description:
Our client is a global manufacturing enterprise breaking ground with a brand-new facility in Knoxville. TN. They have launched an innovative product for an in-demand industry. They are asking us to keep the details under wraps because their innovation is a game changer.They are looking for a military-experienced information technology (IT) systems technician to manage the day-to-day operations, integration and set up of SAP and other business systems as well as investigate and resolve software and hardware problems of computer users.You will:- Manage vendors, costs, and budgets- Plan and execute projects- Interface and coordinate with international group IT- Be responsible for maintaining the upmost level of confidentiality and security- Coordinate with a global service desk, answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming tickets and other requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies- Interview users to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error- Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for routine user problems, consulting with supervisor or other technical staff on more complex problems- Analyze and evaluate incident reports and makes recommendations to reduce help line incident rate- Call software and hardware vendors to request service- Develop, write, and revise user training materials, manuals, and procedures- Train users on software and hardware on-site or in a classroom or recommends outside contractors to provide training- In coordination with supervisor or other technical staff, assists with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network cabling, servers, switches, computer aided manufacturing machines, and various other network devices- Conception and control of IT projects (for example, migration to SAP S/4 HANA Cloud), in close coordination with the other departments of the company as well as international group IT- Responsibility for the local IT budget and cost planningThis role offers rewards in setting IT standards in a new plant, establishing new protocols as well as making improvements in our clients existing IT framework.
