Our team collaborates across departments to optimize the use of information technology in streamlining workflows and supporting service delivery for the city's residents, businesses, and employees. Position Overview - What You'll Be Doing: As a Systems Supervisor, you will lead a dynamic team of six IT professionals, including 4 Systems Analysts and 2 Information Services Administrators, who provide essential support for business systems used by Finance, HR, Public Safety, Development Services, and HiLight, Hillsboro's fiber broadband service. Your key responsibility will be to ensure these systems run smoothly, empowering the departments to excel in serving the community. Your team is also responsible for operational support of line of business systems that enable task and workflow streamlining, user centered improvements, and automation for City of Hillsboro departments. This will involve collaboration with Information Services, Finance, Risk Staff, supported departments, and vendors for leading procurements, contract and statement of work development, prompt payment of vendor invoices, and vendor compliance. Additionally, you will work with other departments to ensure the team's services align with their needs. Your day-to-day will range from strategic planning-maintaining system roadmaps, aligning IT initiatives with City Council priorities-to operational support, ensuring best-in-class systems that improve task automation and workflow efficiency. You'll also oversee vendor relations, contracts, and ensure prompt payments while collaborating with city departments to guarantee the systems meet their needs effectively. Current & Upcoming Projects:
- Lead the overhaul of Development Services business system software, ensuring seamless integration with new customer-centric workflows.
- Drive full automation of critical HR and Finance services via the Munis ERP system.
- Manage Hillsboro's high-speed fiber broadband (HiLight) business system, enabling city-wide internet services for both residents and businesses.
- Contribute to the evolution of the ServiceNow platform, supporting the Information Services department in delivering ITIL-based incident and change management.

Acceptable Experience and Training
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field; AND,
- 5 years' experience related to area of assignment including 2 years supervisory experience; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Licensing / Certifications
- Valid Driver's License and safe driving record
- Law Enforcement Database System (LEDS) Certification (within 90 days of hire)
- Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of IT Systems Architecture and Infrastructure Library Methodology.
- Familiarity with Munis ERP or other enterprise resource planning systems.
- Experience with database administration and information security practices.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certifications in process improvement and change management.
Work Schedule: This is an in-office position, and the selected candidate will be required to work on-site five days a week for the duration of the 6-month onboarding process.
