Responsibilities

As a Systems Test Engineer (Software Integration/Quality) with Sabre Systems, you will be supporting the Airborne Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) team that's developing and integrating software and tools in support of one of the Navy's most technologically sophisticated aircraft platforms, the P-8A. The selected applicant could support systems engineering activities across multiple facets of the AASP program: the Many-Channel Programmable Acoustic Processor Stimulator (McPAPS) team, McPAPS and Operational Signal and information Processing component Quality Assurance for the P-8A aircraft, and/or the Advanced Concepts team. McPAPS is used to stimulate NAVAIR Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) acoustic sensor processing systems. The signal generation capabilities of McPAPS are used to test how well acoustic systems perform with specific input signals. The Advanced Concepts team mission is to rapidly develop Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capabilities and tools to reduce ASW kill-chain timelines and improve operator efficiency. The selected applicant will:

  • Develop test plans and procedures, execute test procedures, develop test tools to aid in test efforts, generate test reports, and generate software trouble reports.
  • Apply system knowledge to investigate Software Trouble Reports (STRs) for P-8A Operational Computer Software Configuration Item (OPCSCI) and McPAPS.
  • Apply system knowledge to develop scenarios for McPAPS

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Test Plan development
  • Test Procedure development and execution to test software corrections
  • Test Tool Development
  • Test Report generation
  • Software Trouble Report generation
  • Integrate software from multiple sources
  • May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, and develop specifications and performance requirements
  • Utilize DevOps tools in the Atlassian suite - JIRA, collaborate and conduct build management with Bitbucket
  • Utilize different test tools and test configurations to accomplish test objectives.
  • Utilize Windows and Linux based assets
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in a STEM field
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities to integrate and evaluate software.
  • Willingness to participate in processes applicable to full software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, integration, and test.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux (preferably Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, or newer)
  • Candidate must be willing to gain a CompTIA certification.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance and be able to acquire a DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Aircraft Weapons Systems and software processes a plus
  • Knowledge of software containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Software Integration and Test or Quality Assurance experience
  • Ocean Acoustics & Associated Signal Processing
  • Other Skills:
    • Self-motivated and willing to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Effective Communication Skills
    • Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft Teams
