SAIC is seeking an experienced Tactical Communications Mission Engineering Lead to support the Space Development Agency (SDA).
Note: This role can be in Chantilly, VA; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; or El Segundo, CA
As the Tactical Communications Mission Engineering Lead, you will be in a customer facing & working lead who interacts directly with SDA T3 leadership on all issues in their purview, assists with planning, resourcing and prioritization of tasks and efforts. Providing clear and effective communication of SDA Government personnel. You will also provide expert guidance, recommendations and technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of interfaces for the Transport Layer of SDA's PWSA.
Responsibilities to include:
* Guide the engineering and technical efforts for Link 16 and TACSATCOM systems, focusing on the development, integration, and testing of narrowband and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band SATCOM solutions.
* Conduct systems engineering and integration activities to address system performance, interoperability, and compliance with MIL-STD-6016, MIL-STD-3011, STANAG 5602, and other standards.
* Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to perform system-level testing, trade studies, and evaluations of JTIDS, MIDS, TDMA, and other tactical data link components.
* Apply knowledge of UFO, MUOS, and other TACSATCOM systems to design, optimize, and deliver advanced satellite communication capabilities.
* Oversee systems engineering activities, including requirements engineering, verification, and validation, ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
* Manage the development and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICD) to enable seamless system interoperability.
* Conduct trade studies and technical analyses to support decision-making and risk mitigation.
* Oversee system testing and evaluation to ensure mission readiness and operational effectiveness.
* Guide cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts among engineers, operators, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, etc.).
* Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Access.
* 10 years of total professional experience and 5 years of experience in Link 16 tactical data link systems engineering, TACSATCOM systems engineering, IBS systems engineering, and/or space-based RF tactical communications focus on development, integration, and testing.
* Proficiency in systems engineering processes, including requirements development, verification, validation, and system integration.
* Strong analytical skills to perform trade studies and system evaluations.
* Clear communicator with strong technical writing skills
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
