Our company is growing rapidly and we are currently in search of intake specialist to help our growing families! We are looking for an experienced intake specialist who is passionate about caring for patients and treating their medical needs.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Intake Specialist located in Talbotton, GA at Valley Healthcare System, Inc. The Intake Specialist will be responsible for handling client intake processes, conducting customer service tasks, managing insurance information, and utilizing strong interpersonal communication skills on a day-to-day basis.

You will perform exams and procedures, counsel patients, and treat patients throughout their lifetime.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Medical intake experience
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Ability to work independently, as part of a team and with patients in a high-paced facility.

$14.37 - $21.55 Hourly
Hours of operation:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8am - 5pm
Late night Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 a.m - 8:30 p.m availability
Weekend availability 8am- 12pm
Summary: In accord with the Center's policies and procedures, the Receptionist /'intake Specialist has responsibility for answering all incoming telephone calls to the Center, scheduling of patients' appointments and assisting in the retrieval and filing of medical records. Performs general office procedures associated with front desk operations at the Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(Translator if applicable: will translate as needed and translate documents into Spanish as needed)
* Provide A+ Customer Service
* Register New Patients
* Verify all paperwork is completed/signed/scanned
* Verify and provide S/F application where applicable/Scan application
* Collect appropriate proof of income/Scan proof of income
* Checking-In Same Day Appts.
* Verify all demographics and insurance; every time patient comes in
* Notate in billing note/and on printed schedule
* Apply payment agreement when applicable
* Process payments
* Reconciling all monies collected at the end of the day
* Run EBO & e-payment report
* Schedule, Cancel, Reschedule, No Show Appts./make non-billable
* Work closely with other Intake Specialist in other departments
* Answer calls when necessary
* Notate if patient has been to ER or Hospital on log/turn in weekly
* Retrieve ER or Hospital records as needed
* Create telephone encounter when necessary (assign to appropriate staff)
* Required to work in other departments when needed
* Required to rotate working on Saturdays @ Front Desk Family Practice (8 am - 12 pm)
* Required to work after hours schedule (Tues./Thurs.11:30-8:30) (where applicable)
* Perform any other duties asked by supervisor when needed
Evaluation: The evaluation of work performance, including: specific duties, responsibilities, demeanor, and work ethic, will be ongoing and implemented by the supervisor per center policies.

Confidentiality (HIPAA): Every employee is required to sign a Pledge of Confidentiality. Failure to comply with our Pledge of Confidentiality can or will lead to immediate termination of employment. Confidentiality applies to a patient's Personal Health Information (PHI) and includes written, oral and electronic communications. Each employee has an obligation to maintain confidentiality after his or her employment/association with this facility ends.
Security (HIPAA): Every employee is required to protect his or her computer log-on and password. You must secure your work area prior to leaving it unattended for an extended period. You are required to log-off of your computer and secure your work area prior to leaving at the end of the day. If you have a responsibility for closing or locking files, securing equipment, or locking the building and you do not comply with these requirements, you will be subject to reprimand and/or termination based upon the infraction. We are required by law to protect patient privacy, identifiable patient information, and all properties containing such information.
Physical Requirements: Varied activities include standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. Employee must possess full range of body motion including the ability to assist or lift patients when necessary; occasional weight bearing to exceed 50 pounds, use of portable stretchers/wheelchairs encouraged. Employee must possess hand-eye coordination with normal range of vision and hearing abilities. This position frequently requires working under stressful conditions and frequently requires irregular work hours.
Environmental Working Conditions: This position includes both administrative and medical responsibilities. Employee is frequently exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical cleaning and processing solutions which my included ionizing radiation plus other elements common in a clinical environment.
