Job Summary:
Responsible for the entire Recruitment and Onboarding process for Barnard College. Provide assistance to departments to fill critical vacancies. Responsibilities include tracking open positions, identifying potential candidates through various forms of networking and recruitment, and oversee and be responsible for the onboarding and orientation of new employees to Barnard College. Prepares metrics and reports for the department, develop and deploy recruitment strategies with hiring managers. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing and editing job descriptions, job posting optimization, working with third party recruitment firms, recruitment planning with budgetary review and protocol, manage and oversee the movement of new hires and their onboarding tasks, and coordinate their orientation to the college.
Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Provide assistance to hiring managers to fill their vacancies, working within stated budgetary parameters set by finance.
* Ensure and maintain the full Recruitment life-cycle for a position including, but not limited to: request for hire, working with Compensation for benchmarking (if applicable), position review with budgetary information and rationale for position, posting of positions, candidate screen/review/interview, coordination with hiring manager and/or search committee, prepare offers, initiate onboarding and orientation.
* Supervise and manage recruitment and onboarding staff and related tasks.
* Responsible to post jobs working within union and non-union posting guidelines for internal and external postings.
* Working with hiring manager on Budget Committee Requests to receive job description, table of organizations, and complete questionnaire for budget committee review. Once approved, ensure Requisitions are entered in Workday with accurate information to begin the formal recruitment process.
* Ensure all job postings reflect accurate information, including but not limited to internal deadlines for internal candidates to apply, wage/salary information relevant and compliant with wage transparency guidelines, job postings contact all relevant information such as responsibilities, qualifications, skills and other criteria which define the essential functions of the position.
* Maintain job advertising on various websites, professional higher education associations and referral sources, social media, etc. Maintain listing and tracking of budgetary expenses tied to advertisements and determine ROI in successfully filling positions through metrics and analysis.
* Maintain and build effective recruitment techniques and develop long term relationships recruitment resources (Linkedin, Job Target, HERC, etc.), schools, professional associations, publications, and agencies to broaden the pool of potential applicants.
* Research and implement alternative resources that help target active/passive applicants such as social media and networking.
* Ensure all recruitment tools are accurate and update to date with important and relevant information for candidates and applicants to review the employment opportunities and overall total rewards of the college.
* Responsible to coordinate and assist departments with temporary hires through active partnership with temporary staffing agencies.
* Prepare job offers, in conjunction with hiring manager, and convey total rewards (compensation, benefits, etc.). Launch Offer Letter in Workday and assist candidate with next steps for onboarding, references, education check, background grounds, and other onboarding tasks.
* Manage final candidates onboarding steps, monitor update for status update on any/all background checks. Communicate in live time with hiring manager and candidate. Liasion between candidate and hiring manager to ensure all onboarding questions and orientation in seamless during this event.
* Coordinate and communicate, in conjunction with hiring manager, start date and hire tasks in Workday that must be completed for payroll and HR compliance.
* Pro-actively escalate and communicate any concerns, questions, issues, etc. with job vacancies, recruitment efforts, applicant questions, etc. throughout the life cycle of recruitment and onboarding.
* Explain to candidate during offer process Benefit packages (if eligible) and direct follow up questions to Benefits group as needed.
* Schedule and coordinate with other HR divisions New Hire Orientation for particular employee groups. Conduct new hire orientation as needed.
* Work with leadership in identifying high potential employees for future roles.
* Maximize all Recruitment and Onboarding resources and materials in Workday. This includes managing all open positions, requisitions, job postings, candidate profiles, dispositioning of applicants, offer letters, salary/compensation for new hires, onboarding tasks such as I-9, payroll, dependents, etc
* Responsible for overseeing all I-9 management for new and/or rehires of the college. Ensure all I-9s are completed withing legal guidelines.
* Coordinate any/all interview for candidate with hiring manager or search committees.
* Conducts follow-up calls with hiring managers and new hires to address hiring quality improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with Employee and Labor Relations team on union job postings, internal transfers, union seniority, job evaluation committees, upgrades or job changes.
* Collaborate with Training/Engagement and Benefits division in the coordination and assisting with new hire orientation and talent development.
* Collaborate with HRIS and Compensation to ensure accurate information and smooth onboarding for candidates in Workday.
* Provide overall assistance and collaboration on HR projects and initiatives in engagement, training or special events.
* Perform any/all duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree
* 3-5 years of relevant experience Human Resources with specific emphasis in life cycle recruitment and onboarding. 1-2 years supervisory experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Masters Degree
* Experience working in higher education
* Additional HR certifications, i.e., SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR
* Workday Experience strongly preferred, specifically with HCM
Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000
Hours: 35 Hours a Week - Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote, subject to change due to operational needs.
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
