Responsible for human resource objectives designated within departments; to serve as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues and communicating proactively in the development of integrated solutions. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will formulate and maintain partnerships across universities, colleges, and other professional affiliations and deliver ongoing recruitment strategies for future employees and affiliates, whilst meeting the objectives and goals of Birch Family Services strategic plan.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partners with the Director of Human Resources and Assistant Director of Recruitment and Strategic Partnerships to determine staffing needs and department forecasting.
- Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checks, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire), and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings (Onboarding).
- Serves as an expert in recruiting candidates (Direct Support Professionals, Residential Managers, Nurses (RN/LPN), Teachers, and Teacher Assistants) within Birchs network of service sites.
- Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Assists in advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
- Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring managers, transfer offer letters, etc.
- Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process.
- Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure the achievement of staffing goals.
- Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, employment agreements).
- Works with hiring managers of all agency departments to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
- Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Manages application/resume file and retention according to company policy.
- Maintains memberships, partnerships, and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to the industry.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars and workshops.
- Researches, analyzes, prepares, and presents hiring statistics.
- Maintains records on recruiting activities as required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position; days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility in work schedule will be required to accommodate recruitment functions and meetings as assigned.TravelThis position requires up to 50% travel. Most travel will be within the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, and CT)QualificationsRequired Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree
- At least two years of provider recruiting experience in healthcare and/or social services.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Masters degree, preferably in Human Resource Management
- Formulating partnerships with academic institutions and other key associations.
- HRIS experience.
- Training experience is a plus.
