Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Talent Acquistion Specialist for the Talent Acquisition department in University Human Resources. Among the key duties of the position are the following:

* Consults with client departments to develop recruitment strategies addressing current and upcoming vacancies.

* Acts as an advisor and collaborate with hiring managers to develop sourcing plans.

* Develops messaging to attract top candidates.

* Identifies challenges in recruitment, examines possible root causes, evaluates possible solutions, and advises departments on revisions to hiring practices to improve fairness and effectiveness.

* Evaluates candidates' experience and other credentials for relevance to open positions.

* Builds and fosters relationships with university career services, student organizations and other campus resources to proactively build talent pipelines.

* Determines most effective sources and approaches to build talent pipelines and executes strategies.

* Applies University policy for determining background check requirements and evaluates need for additional pre-employment screening to meet regulatory requirements.

* Negotiates offers and constructs offer letters.

* Initiates and monitors onboarding processes.

* Creates, manages, and maintains job postings via Applicant Tracking System.

* Manages client relations and escalations.

* Maintains ongoing communication with hiring teams regarding recruitment status and updates data in the Applicant Tracking System.

* Serves as the liaison between management, staff, and applicants regarding employment policies, practices, and procedures.

* Provides guidance and direction to hiring managers and administrative staff in the handling of staffing transactions, including process and timing, documentation, approval, implementation and communication.

* Strives to continuously offer excellence in service with the goal to make Rutgers University an employer of choice.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

* Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Two (2) years of experience in human resource management.

Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications

* Two years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, staffing, and onboarding including compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws.

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.

* Experience in higher education.

* Experience in a labor environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Possess a consultative approach to problem solving,

* Ability to identify issues, partner with internal stakeholders, and identify ways to resolve issues proactively.

* Excellent oral, written/oral communication skills.

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.

* Overall problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.

* Advanced knowledge in talent acquisition in order to make recommendations addressing short-term recruitment challenges and to create value propositions specific to a position and department.

Equipment Utilized

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

* Ability to understand Applicant Tracking Systems.
