Specializing in earth moving and restoration of all kinds, Rifenburg makes quick work of landfill expansions and closures, site work, highway and bridge expansion projects and utility installations. We are looking someone to fill a full-time Talent Acquisition role based out of our Zebulon, NC office, U.S. travel required.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in sourcing and recruiting top-tier talent for various positions within our heavy highway construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry and a proactive approach to recruiting for positions ranging from skilled labor and field operations to management and engineering roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction recruitment, with a focus on building a robust talent pipeline for future and current projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Sourcing & Recruiting: Develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates for heavy highway construction roles. This includes field-based positions, project managers, estimators, engineers, and support staff.
* Candidate Screening & Assessment: Conduct initial screenings, review qualifications, and assess technical skills to ensure candidates meet job requirements and align with the company's culture and values.
* Job Posting Management: Create and post job openings across various platforms, including industry-specific job boards, social media, and internal company portals.
* Pipeline Development: Establish and nurture relationships with trade schools, industry associations, and apprenticeship programs to build a sustainable talent pipeline for future needs.
* Interview Coordination & Support: Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, providing guidance and support to both parties throughout the interview process.
* Relationship Building with Hiring Managers: Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand job requirements, project timelines, and department needs, providing insights and recommendations to optimize the hiring process.
* Networking & Brand Building: Attend career fairs, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote the company as an employer of choice within the construction industry.
* Data Tracking & Reporting: Track and analyze recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, candidate sources, and pipeline health, to continuously improve recruitment efforts.
* Compliance: Ensure recruiting practices are aligned with company policies, state and federal regulations, and industry standards.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum of 3 years of recruiting experience in the construction or related industries, with a focus on heavy highway or civil construction preferred. SHRM, PHR, or talent acquisition-related certification is a plus. Bilingual a plus!
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Strong sourcing skills with expertise in using ATS systems, LinkedIn, job boards, and social media.
* Ability to evaluate candidates for a variety of roles, including technical and skilled labor positions.
* Knowledge of heavy highway and civil construction industry practices and terminology is a plus.
* Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
* Ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse candidate pools, from entry-level to senior professionals.
* Analytical mindset with a focus on metrics and data-driven recruitment.
