The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) I performs routine and specialized human resources duties to include but not limited to: background investigations, degree verifications, candidate testing administration, rehire eligibility list, identification numbers for new hires. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Assists in m anaging the hiring process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.

What you need to know

Salary - $50,100 annually

Location - position is located onsite at our main campus in College Station Texas

Required Education and Experience:

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ One year of HR related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

+ Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.

+ Excellent customer service orientation.

+ Attention to detail.

+ Knowledge of state and federal policy in recruiting, hiring and employment.

+ Track record of personal accountability, integrity, and proven organizational skills.

+ Strong written communication, analytical, interpersonal, customer service skills.

+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Working knowledge of HR systems including Workday or other HCM application, background investigation and credential verification.

+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or similar field of study.

+ More than one year of experience of recruiting, screening, interviewing, and hiring activities.

+ Experience coordinating recruiting activities through HR representatives in the field.

Role Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition Support

+ Coordinates current and future talent acquisition support functions including backgrounds, credential/degree verification, Laserfiche, UIN's, NEFR list and testing administration.

+ Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

+ Works collaboratively with other Talent Specialists to support the Talent Acquisition process.

+ Provides a high-touch experience that will develop lasting relationships with both candidates and hiring managers.

+ Provides excellent customer support collaborating across HROE and the University.

+ Provides administration support to the TAS team including responding to inquiries from HR generalists and/or hiring managers, scheduling screening or interview appointments for candidates and following up on pending actions.

+ Utilizes recruitment tools.

Recruitment analytics and continuous improvement

+ Assists the Talent Acquisition Specialist team in facilitating continuous improvement via measurement tools, scorecards, and recruitment analysis.

+ Understands effectiveness of tools, strategies, methods, and materials and make changes as needed for improvement.

+ Provides recommendations to process improvements.
