Job Title: Tank and Vessel Estimator

Reports to: Tank and Vessel Estimating Manager

Department: Estimating

Status: Full-time; Exempt

Join GrayWolf as a Tank and Vessel Estimator, where you will play a vital role in our growth and success as a leading constructor and maintainer of field-constructed tanks and vessels. We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives in a challenging and rewarding environment, with a passion for delivering successful and profitable tank estimates to support our expanding tank operations.

Responsibilities:

* Performing accurate and profitable tank estimates to support the sales of tank operations. This involves attending pre-bid meetings, conducting material and labor take-offs, submitting proposals to customers, and negotiating contract awards to secure successful sales.

* Assisting in the negotiation of contracts for projects estimated by other GrayWolf staff, actively contributing to closing sales, and facilitating the kick-off process internally and externally once a project is sold.

* Collaborating with other divisions within Graywolf on large turn-key and EPC projects, providing tank and mechanical construction estimates for markets such as pulp and paper, power, chemical, and other heavy industrial sectors across the United States.

* Working closely with tank division management to contribute to the establishment of a fully functional and profitable tank and vessel operation in Chattanooga, TN. The role includes identifying areas for improvement to maximize performance, fostering a team atmosphere, and aiding in the onboarding and training of new employees.

* Developing and maintaining relationships with material suppliers to ensure competitive bid pricing and aligning material purchases with estimates in collaboration with the purchasing department.

* Understanding and interpreting engineered drawings to grasp supply scope and facilitate material and labor take-offs.

* Demonstrating a solid understanding of construction processes such as rigging, welding, crane operations, etc.

* Ideally holding an Engineering degree or Construction Management degree, though substantial industry experience will be given significant consideration.

* Utilizing computer proficiency to handle estimating and daily operational requirements efficiently.

* Being open to short-duration travel to visit potential customers and monitor current project performance.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: While an Engineering degree or Construction Management degree is preferred, we highly value industry experience in this role.

Computer Proficiency: Proficient computer skills are essential for estimating and handling daily operational requirements efficiently.

Travel: Some short-duration travel will be required to visit potential customers and monitor project performance.
