- Leading the strategic direction of the company's tax planning and compliance functions.
- Overseeing the preparation and review of all tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Developing and implementing tax strategies that maximize profits while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Advising on tax implications of business decisions and potential acquisitions.
- Identifying and mitigating tax risks and liabilities.
- Managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Staying abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company is prepared for any potential impacts.
- Working closely with other departments to provide tax-related advice and guidance.
- Leveraging expertise in the renewables sector and tax credit to drive business growth and profitability.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Permanent Tax Director position should possess the following qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax leadership role, preferably within the energy or renewables sector.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience with tax credit and other incentives in the renewables sector.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
