Tax Manager (100% Remote) Public Accounting - Growing & Fun Local CPA Firm $100,000 - $130,000 + Bonus + Benefits Denver, CO - Based Navigator Recruiting client is a local reputable Denver, CO CPA firm of 5 full-time staff (who all work remotely), including 1 Partner/Owner (CPA, MBA); 1 Tax Senior; 3 Tax Accountants and 1 Office Manager. The owner is very easy-going, trusts his employees, is concerned for his employees' well-being and values communication. Tax clients are typically small businesses and individuals in metro Denver which have annual revenues less than $10M. The firm has experienced tremendous growth in clients over the past 4 years, so the partner is seeking to hire someone else to help him review tax returns and prepare some returns, mainly. The firm offers an excellent growth opportunity and benefits. Responsibilities:
- Review of business tax returns and oversight of business accounting
- Preparation of moderately complex business tax returns
- Technical guidance on specific business tax topics (R&D credit, cost segregation studies, enterprise zone credits, tax planning opportunities etc). This individual would not necessarily be performing the studies, but identifying opportunities and working with specialists.
- The rest of the role will be filled with other work that the firm currently has, such as individual tax return reviews and preparation, and some complex accounting. The rest of the role could also be filled by helping the owner in developing a back-office automation consulting service.
- The firm uses a cloud-based version of UltraTax and QuickBooks.
- You would have meetings with clients over videoconference and being able to communicate effectively is critical.
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting
- CPA strongly preferred
- 5+ years' tax return preparation and review experience in public accounting is required
- UltraTax and QuickBooks experience are helpful but not required
