Are you a growth-minded individual seeking a dynamic role in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial Family Office? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Accountant/Manager who will be integral to our mission-driven team. This role involves a mix of tax compliance (80-90%) and general accounting responsibilities (10-20%), managing tasks like general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable/payable, fixed assets, cash management, and real estate property management and construction.
What We're Looking For:
- Tax Expertise: Accurately prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for multiple partnerships and S-corporations in various states.
- Preferred Skills: Experience in family office investment accounting, real estate, and construction systems is a plus, but not required.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Intermediate Excel knowledge; certification is a plus.
- Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail for reviewing tax returns and financial statements.
- Independent & Team Player: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with third-party tax and financial preparers.
- Analytical & Organized: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Depreciation Knowledge: Experience with depreciation calculations (Federal, State, AMT); knowledge of CS Fixed Asset Solutions is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation & Review: Primary responsibility for preparing and reviewing annual federal and state income tax returns, including supporting schedules and work papers.
- Tax Planning: Lead role in annual income tax planning and process, including calculating quarterly estimated tax liabilities and payments.
- Technical Research: Review tax implications on new investments and present findings to C-Suite executives as needed.
- Fixed Asset Management: Track and reconcile fixed assets, including depreciation and amortization calculations.
- Sales & Property Tax: Prepare and pay sales tax, property tax, and other tax payments as needed.
- General Accounting: Over time, engage in full cycle accounting, general ledger, financial statement preparation, reporting, and analysis for real estate and financial investments.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of tax preparation experience, with a focus on partnership and S-corporation returns. General accounting experience (1-3+ years) is a plus.
- Real Estate Knowledge: Experience in real estate, including active development and rental operations, is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; an MBA or CPA is a plus.
