A professional services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their growing team in Tax Manager. Responsibilities: The Tax Manager will:
- Manage staff on engagement deliverables (such as financial statements, tax returns, work papers, etc.)
- Complete technical and strategic reviews as a member of the final engagement review team to ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on time delivery and on budget
- Handle all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc.
- Assist with new client development in partnership with upper management
- Participate in client meetings, presentations and proposal development and meet individual cross serve
- Manage and retain multiple client relationships, engagements and special projects
- Develop overall engagement budget
- Handle billing and realization on assigned clients and explain variances
- Supervise, train and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectively
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Public Accounting or related field
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation,
- CPA or parts passed
- Knowledge of pass through Entities and Individual Tax
- Previous experience in a Supervisory role
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical and mathematical skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
