Job Description:

Our client, a registered investment company, is seeking a skilled and talented Tax Manager to join their team, located in their Denver, CO offices. Our client specializes in the design and management of investment solutions for the US institutional market that address three primary concerns: stabilizing pensions, income for life, and sustainable solutions. The chosen candidate will be responsible for overseeing the US tax compliance for the business and company's US investments group. You will assist the Tax team and Finance Department in overseeing all aspects of tax reporting and work closely with our 3rd party tax provider.

Responsibilities

  • Support the internal tax function of the organization so that the tax requirements of the business are met.
  • Day to day management of 3rd party tax provider and compliance processes for the organization's corporate and US funds (Federal, state, and city level taxes).
  • Review of all US tax returns for the organization's (corporate/funds) and US tax returns.
  • Liaise with organization's product development, legal and operations teams in addition to the tax team in the UK.
  • Monitor US tax developments which are likely to impact the organization's American corporate and US funds.
  • Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is required. CPA preferred, but not required.
  • 4 – 6 years of experience either in an in-house tax function or in a big 4 practice is required.
  • Asset management experience is required.
  • Ability to manage 3rd party tax providers and compliance processes for corporate and US funds (Federal, state, and city level taxes).
  • Advanced Excel skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is essential in this role.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature.
  • Team player who can successfully work with colleagues across different levels in the organization and in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Previous experience managing a workload within a team culture and environment is required.
  • Sophisticated interpersonal skills with ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
