About the job Tax Manager Responsibilities:
- Review U.S. tax returns for investment partnerships and other related filings
- Assess U.S. tax returns for insurance companies and their shareholders
- Supervise U.S. tax professionals and conduct tax research, drafting technical memoranda
- Prepare presentation materials for marketing U.S. tax services
- Meet with existing and potential clients to discuss tax-related issues
- Assist in setting strategies, driving new business development, and providing technical advice across disciplines
- Build strong networks within the firm to identify and capitalize on project opportunities across various business units and sectors
- Identify and discuss key issues with clients to uncover potential opportunities
- Manage day-to-day client communications and tax team operations
- Shape and deliver projects that exceed client expectations and quality criteria
- Develop project teams, assess engagement risks, drive conclusions, and review/challenge team outputs
- Manage engagement financials
- Help grow and develop the team through hands-on training and coaching
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. taxation with an international accounting firm or similar, specializing in U.S. tax issues of investment funds or international corporate structures
- Bachelor's degree with a specialization in accounting/taxation or a law degree from an accredited university
- Qualification as a U.S. Certified Public Accountant or IRS Enrolled Agent
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. tax compliance and consulting needs for various investment funds, including expertise in tax compliance software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proven experience in developing and sustaining deep client relationships, preparing and presenting complex materials, and managing project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection
- Demonstrated experience as a team leader, motivating members, creating an atmosphere of trust, and encouraging improvement and innovation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Ability to coach and mentor junior team members
- Highly organized, dedicated, and self-motivated
- Demonstrated success in generating new business, proposal writing and delivery, and collaborating across engagements and business units
