POSITION – TAX MANAGER
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field- Advanced degree preferred
- Licensed CPA or Law Degree
- Five to eight years tax experience, with emphasis on high income, high net-worth individuals with complex tax situations.
- Experience building and managing prospective and existing client relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with tax preparation and bookkeeping software
- Experience with ProSystems tax preparation and Sage 50 Accounting software a plus
- Strong organizational, analytical and technical skills.
- Excellent in verbal and written communication.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the preparation, review and sign individual, trust, estate, gift and partnership tax returns.
- Answer specific tax issues raised by tax preparers and professional staff. Provide research as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in tax law, analyze changes in the tax law and research tax law to ensure compliance and develop effective tax planning strategies.
- Provide training and development to tax professionals and other AMG staff, advise on tax law developments.
- Provide audit support for clients as needed.
- Actively market and promote the firm to potential clients.
- Evaluate and develop efficient and improved procedural systems for the delivery of tax services.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of tax department policies and procedures.
