Key Responsibilities: Provide tax preparation services for individuals and businesses, including personal income tax, corporate taxes, and small business tax filings. Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information, answer tax-related questions, and explain tax strategies and filing statuses. Perform detailed tax calculations and ensure that all returns are filed in compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Handle sensitive financial data with the utmost care and confidentiality. Collaborate with our bookkeeping and payroll team to ensure clients' financial records are in order for accurate tax preparation. Will be using Drake for tax preparation. What We're Looking For: At least 1 year of tax preparation experience, ideally working with both individual and business tax returns. Proficiency in tax preparation software and a solid understanding of tax laws. Strong communication skills to explain tax details clearly to clients. Ability to build rapport and trust with clients. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines, especially during tax season. Accuracy is critical when preparing tax returns. You must be able to spot discrepancies and ensure compliance with tax codes. This is a part-time, independent role, so the ability to stay organized and proactive is essential. While not required, Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA certification would be a plus.
