Job descriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced technician specialized in Transcranial Doppler (TCD), Carotid, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA), and Renal Artery ultrasound examinations to join our team at the 2015 Grand Concourse location in Bronx, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive vascular ultrasound studies to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities. The technician will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information and ensure high-quality patient care.Perform Vascular Ultrasound Examinations:Conduct TCD ultrasound studies to evaluate cerebral blood flow and identify abnormalities.Perform carotid ultrasound examinations to assess carotid artery health and detect blockages or abnormalities.Conduct AAA ultrasound examinations to evaluate the abdominal aorta for aneurysms.Perform renal artery ultrasound examinations to assess blood flow and detect any blockages or abnormalities in the renal arteries.Utilize ultrasound equipment to obtain accurate and clear images for diagnostic purposes.Follow established protocols and procedures for TCD, carotid, AAA, and renal artery examinations.Patient Care:Prepare patients for TCD, carotid, AAA, and renal artery examinations, explaining the procedures and answering any questions.Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process.Obtain and record patient medical history relevant to the examinations.Data Management and Reporting:Analyze and interpret ultrasound data to provide preliminary findings to physicians.Document and record examination results accurately in the patient s medical records.Maintain accurate and organized records of all TCD, carotid, AAA, and renal artery examinations performed.Equipment Maintenance:Ensure that ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with the equipment.Coordinate with the biomedical engineering team for equipment repairs and maintenance as needed.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.Communicate effectively with patients, explaining the procedures and addressing any concerns.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans.Quality Assurance and Compliance:Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.Education and Certification:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.Current certification in vascular ultrasound technology (e.g., through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - ARDMS) specializing in TCD, carotid, AAA, and renal artery examinations.Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience performing TCD, carotid, AAA, and renal artery ultrasound examinations.Experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.Skills and Abilities:Proficient in the use of vascular ultrasound equipment and related software.Strong analytical and interpretive skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Working Conditions:*Work may involve exposure to infectious diseases and requires strict adherence to safety protocols.May require standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.Application Process: Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter detailing their qualifications and experience relevant to this position.This job description outlines the responsibilities, qualifications, and key skills required for the TCD, Carotid, AAA, and Renal Artery Technician role, ensuring candidates understand the scope of the position and the expectations for high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy.Job Type: Full-timePay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftAbility to Relocate:Bronx, NY 10453: Relocate before starting work (Required)
