Job DetailsJob LocationMill Basin Early Childhood Center - Brooklyn, NYSalary Range$17.00 - $18.25 HourlyDescriptionSummaryThe floater oversees the environment in an assigned classroom, assuring child health and safety, helping to support appropriate curriculum, and building positive relationships with children, parents and staff.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Room coverage at lunch, for additional prep/ writing time opportunities and classroom coverage to support students/classrooms having difficulty napping/teachers that are in training and as necessary.
- Office duties, answering phones, reception coverage.
- Maintain classroom management, sanitation and safety and support student transitions
- Provide a normal routine by maintaining daily schedule adherence
- Must keep classroom staff, and school administration informed concerning children, and issues.
- Maintaining the Agency's policies and procedures
- Attend on-going training
- Additional duties as required
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time position; days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 25 hours per a week.QualificationsRequired Education and Experience
- 18 years and older.
- HS Diploma and willingness to obtain New York State Teaching Assistant Certification.
- A desire to work with children through positive interaction.
- Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
- Dependable, flexible, and team player required.
Physical Demands:
- Demonstrate full range of motion. Be able to lift to 40 lbs. Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
