This role involves assisting lead teachers in the classroom, helping to create a nurturing environment where young children can learn and grow. Responsibilities include engaging with children in educational activities, ensuring a safe and supportive space, and fostering positive interactions. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children, a collaborative spirit, and prior experience in childcare or early education settings. This individual must represent Christ and the Church with grace and hospitality, modeling Christian missional teachings and behaviors at all times. Works under the supervision and direction of the Teacher and the Preschool Director. - Assist with classroom activities and with the care and instruction of the children.
- Assist in preparation of classroom materials and daily projects.
- Prepare and clean up after snacks and assist on the playground.
- Assist in preparation for scheduled Parent/Teacher Conferences and other events.
- Fulfill all obligations required by the DHS for ECE Teachers Aide, including 16 hours of continuing education.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalency required.
- Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential Level 1 or the willingness to complete.
- At least two ECE courses or the willingness to complete.
Experience:
- Prior experience working with children in a school or early childhood education setting preferred.
- Biblically-based knowledge preferred.
- Computer experience helpful.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification and Universal Precautions helpful (training provided).
- High energy and creativity; flexibility; and respect for confidentiality.
Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours/week, depending on classroom assignment, with flexibility to attend staff meetings and other functions held outside the normal school day hours, including some evenings as needed.Applicants must hold beliefs that are consistent with those of First Presbyterian Church.
