Receives supervision and guidance from certified teachers and teacher assistants in the delivery of effective instruction. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.To view full job description, please click on the job title: Teacher Aide (Part-Time) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED; supplemented by one year of more years' experience and/or training working with school age children; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Must have or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid training and Florida Department of Children and Families required early childhood education, teacher assistant, and/or childhood development associate certifications within one year of start date.In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully. Discounted Supplemental InsurancesSeveral supplemental insurances are offered through AFLAC at discounted rates for City employees. Plans include: Accident; Cancer; Critical Care and Hospital Confinement Protection.Florida Retirement SystemParticipation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) is mandatory for all eligible General employees. The FRS offers eligible employees an option between a Pension Plan and an Investment Plan.
