Instructional Job Number 460####### Start Date Open Date 11/05/2024 Closing Date 11/29/2024 Summary: The AIG & Talent Development District Lead Teacher is responsible for Talent Development (TD) Catalyst program and Learning Immersion/ Talent Development (LI/TD) magnet program implementation support, curriculum support, identifying training needs, coaching and mentoring TD Teachers, collaborating with the magnet office, and supporting all components of the TD Catalyst and LI/TD magnet instructional programs at the district-level. The individual works to ensure the TD Catalyst program and LI/TD expectations are met while supporting schools to make connections and implement other advanced studies programs, resources, and best practices. Individual must be well-versed in best practices and resources for gifted education as well as the TD Catalyst model.Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for consistent implementation of the Talent Development Catalyst Model across CMS
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for the development and implementation of a consistent LI/TD magnet instructional program
- Collaborate with TD Teachers, LI/TD Coordinators and Principals to identify and support needs of TD Catalyst Programs and LI/TD magnet Programs
- Plan, track, and identify training needs for TD Catalyst Programs and LI/TD magnet Programs
- Support gifted and advanced curriculum implementation across the district
- Collaborate with Advanced Studies staff to connect TD Catalyst Model and LI/TD Magnet program with other advanced studies programs, resources and best practices
- Collaborate with Learning and Teaching Services Specialists to ensure comprehensive understanding of gifted and advanced resources and strategies is relevant for all content specialists.
- Advocate for TD Catalyst and LI/TD Magnet program needs
- Coordinate district-trainings, meetings, and other events to support the TD Catalyst Model and LI/TD Magnet programs
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in Education
- Five years' experience as an AIG teacher
- Five years' experience in a leadership role at the school or district level
Desired
- Master's degree in Education
- Educational Leadership, Administration or Curriculum and Instruction License
- State or National experience with Gifted Organizations
Licensing / Certification Requirements:
- NC teacher license
- NC AIG license

Physical Requirements: Physical activity is limited to mostly sedentary activity. Occasional requirement of standing, lifting/carrying, reaching, pushing/pulling will occur with the planning of trainings, meetings, and other programming needs.
