This role involves assisting the teacher in managing classroom activities, providing individualized support to students, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere.Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Support: Assist the teacher in delivering lesson plans and instructional materials. Provide support to students during classroom activities and lessons.
- Student Engagement: Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
- Behavior Management: Help maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior, reinforcing appropriate conduct.
- Individual Support: Provide individualized support to students with varying needs, including those with special education requirements.
- Assessment Assistance: Assist in the assessment and monitoring of student progress, including grading assignments and recording grades.
- Classroom Organization: Help maintain an organized and clean classroom environment, including preparing materials and setting up learning stations.
- Communication: Collaborate with the teacher and other staff members to communicate student progress and any concerns.
- Supervision: Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods to ensure safety and compliance with school policies.
- Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and effectiveness in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or 48 college credit hours.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
- Capacity to engage in physical activities associated with supervising students.
