Teacher AssistantFull-time and Part-time positions availableTo assist the classroom teacher with implementing goals and objectives in each student's IEP within a small classroom setting and school environment that fosters learning and personal growth in cognitive, social/emotional, and language areas of development.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- One of the following MUST be fulfilled in order to be considered:
- NJ Dept. of Education teacher certification (Standard or CEAS or CE)
- Enrolled in a college teacher education program
- Enrolled in a college program in a field applicable to our student population (i.e. ABA, speech therapy, OT/PT)
OR
- Possess a BA/BS degree and be a current Spectrum360 employee for a minimum of 3 years, with proficient or above evaluation ratings, along with professional experience applicable to the current open positions
OR
- Possess a BA/BS degree and have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a field applicable to the current open positions
- Must have a valid NJ substitute certification
- All candidates are required to complete a criminal history check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
Job responsibilities:
- Assist with all instructional and non-instructional tasks as assigned by the teacher
- Assist with the preparation of materials as assigned by the teacher
- Use computers and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions
- Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and effective work ethic
- Participate in professional development and workshop programs and attend required meetings
- Display ethical behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school
- Successful experience working with children on the autism spectrum
- Knowledge of ABA preferred, not required
