Job Description:
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide extra assistance to students with special needs. Assist students individually or in small groups academically. Supervise students. Work with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts. Arrange with classroom teachers to collect student assignments. Enforce classroom values. Responsible for assisting with classroom behavior. Assist in crisis intervention for students. Responsible to record information behavior on ABC sheets. Complete the following reports when necessary; information's, behaviorals, and incident reports. Provide communication to members of the Behavior Support team regarding any behavior requiring intervention. Responsible for monitoring the attendance of all students assigned to their class. Maintain classroom logs. Performs all duties as assigned. Attend all trainings provided by the school's Principal for this position.II. QUALIFICATIONS: Teacher Assistant Certificate Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license and fingerprinting as required by the program. Compliance with health regulations for physical/mantoux testing. Attending TCI class for certification/re-certification and passing a test upon completion of course is a minimum requirement for employment.III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS: Be a team player. Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among SCO staff and clients within our organization. Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change; forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families. Ability to set limits and maintain helping role of practitioner and to intervene appropriately.IV.
