Position Type: Secondary Teaching/High School TeacherDate Posted: 12/16/2023Location: Grants Pass Campus Adjunct (Part-Time) Teacher - Multiple Subject Areas Job Description As an Adjunct Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in one or more subject areas, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students. This role requires a commitment to student success, active communication with families, and adherence to school policies and standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Student Support:
- Deliver subject-specific instruction to students in an engaging and effective manner.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students to ensure academic and social success.
- Family and Learning Coach Engagement:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students' families and learning coaches.
- Communicate effectively with families to support student learning and address any concerns.
- Explain school policies and processes to families and assist them in understanding and navigating the educational system.
- Curriculum and Resource Management:
- Identify and implement appropriate Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for each subject area.
- Facilitate the ordering and use of educational materials, curriculum, and supplies.
- Provide training and support to learning coaches on the implementation of instructional strategies and curriculum.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Proctor state and school-mandated assessments, including Oregon State Assessments (OSAS).
- Share assessment results with students, parents, and learning coaches promptly.
- Assist in making informed decisions for student advancement based on assessment results and educational goals.
- Professional Development and Collaboration:
- Attend mandatory training sessions, curriculum conferences, and staff development meetings.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), IEP, 504, SST, RTI meetings, and other collaborative initiatives.
- Support and model a culture of continuous improvement and ethical behavior.
- Administrative and Miscellaneous Duties:
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation for each assigned student.
- Maintain visibility and positive contact with students, families, and school staff.
- Ensure a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
- Drive to and participate in school-related meetings, training, and professional development sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in teaching or a related field.
- Eligibility for or possession of an appropriate Oregon State Teaching License.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
